Russia warns the United States of America of the risks of World War III | WW3

Aug. 27, MOSCOW (Reuters) - Russia warned the United States on Tuesday that World War Three will not be limited to Europe, saying the West was playing with fire by considering enabling Ukraine to strike far into Russia with Western weapons.
In what is believed to be the largest foreign invasion on Russia since World War Two, Ukraine struck the western Kursk region of Russia on August 6 and took some land. President Vladimir Putin promised that Russia will honourably respond to the attack.
Putin's foreign minister for more than 20 years, Sergei Lavrov, said that by considering Ukrainian demands to relax restrictions on deploying weapons provided by other countries, the West was "asking for trouble" and attempting to intensify the conflict in Ukraine.

Putin has stated that Russia does not wish to engage in combat with the NATO alliance, which is commanded by the United States, but he has frequently warned of the possibility of a far larger battle including the world's major nuclear powers since invading Ukraine in 2022.
"We are now confirming once again that playing with fire - and they are like small children playing with matches - is a very dangerous thing for grown-up uncles and aunts who are entrusted with nuclear weapons in one or another Western country," Lavrov said to reporters in Moscow.
"Americans unequivocally associate conversations about Third World War as something that, God forbid, if it happens, will affect Europe exclusively," Lavrov stated.

Russia was "clarifying" its nuclear doctrine, Lavrov continued.

The president of Russia would contemplate deploying a nuclear weapon, according to its 2020 nuclear doctrine, "when the very existence of the state is put under threat" or in reaction to an assault utilising conventional or nuclear weapons of mass devastation.

Response from Russia

Earlier this month, Zelenskiy stated that the attack on the Kursk area of Russia demonstrated that the Kremlin's warnings of reprisal were a deception.
Zelenskiy said that Ukraine was unable to deploy its arsenal of weaponry to strike certain Russian military sites due to limitations placed in place by allies. He called on allies to make more audacious choices on how best to support Kyiv throughout the conflict.
According to Russia, Ukraine employed Western weapons in Kursk, notably American missile systems and British tanks. The use of American HIMARS rockets to destroy Kursk bridges has been acknowledged by Kiev.
The United States claims that it was unaware of Ukraine's preparations before to the unexpected attack on Kursk. The US has also stated that it was not involved in the operation.

According to Washington, it was unaware of Ukraine's preparations before to the unexpected attack on Kursk. Additionally, the US has stated that it was not involved in the operation.
Sergei Naryshkin, Putin's head of foreign intelligence, stated on Tuesday that Moscow did not accept claims from the West that it was unrelated to the Kursk incident. The United States' participation, according to Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov, is "an obvious fact".
In the days following the Ukrainian strike, the United States and Britain reportedly sent Ukraine satellite photos and other intelligence on the Kursk region, according to a story by The New York Times opens new tab.

According to The Times, the information was intended to assist Ukraine in better monitoring Russian troops.
